Martine Ast
Martine Ast is an interior designer who strives to create interiors which are thoughtful, livable and reflect the personality of the client.
Martine’s expertise lies in helping clients define the vision they have for their own home. She sees her role as guiding and facilitating clients through the design process and helping to define a signature style unique to them.
Her focus is residential interior design. Experience includes new construction, as well as large and small renovation projects. Martine is motivated by the entire design process, working closely with contractors and vendors to ensure that the potential of each project is realized.
Martine started her professional design career in California. The experience of working and living in the San Francisco Bay Area gave her exposure to a vibrant design culture and a wide range of aesthetics, talented artisans and creative designers. Martine found inspiration in the unique blend of the old and new architecture in the city, gaining a deep appreciation for the juxtaposition of classic and contemporary design elements.
She carried this spirit and inspiration back to Calgary where she spent 13 years working at Paul Lavoie Interior Design. Her career has grown under the influence of both the breathtaking natural landscapes of Western Canada, as well as the inspiring people she has had the chance to work with along the way.
